PERFORMANCE

European flax/linen is an everyday hero: robust yet sensitive and soft, it is naturally performant and offers laboratory-proven comfort properties to new generations of textiles.

THE FLAX/LINEN FIBRE OFFERS THE BEST COMFORT PERFORMANCE AND THERMO-REGULATION

Linen, compared to cotton, viscose and PES, provides the best performance in lab tests:

  • #1 Ventilation
permeability of air for a cooling effect
  • #1 Breathability
    permeability of vapour or perspiration
  • #1 Moisture management
    ability to wick away humidity
  • #1 Absorption

Its intermediate insulation ranking offers moderate warmth (warmer than cotton and viscose), for thermo-regulating comfort in all seasons.

COLOUR-TAKING CAPABILITY

Thanks to excellent absorption, flax/linen draws dyes into the very heart of the fibre, offering good dye efficiency with low input.

Linen textiles allow dense and vibrant colours, which will last over time, developing an attractive patina.

EASY CARE

Linen can usually be washed - the temperature will depend on the type of weave or knit, and dye - it will become more supple and soft with each washing.

It stands up well to moderate spinning and machine drying.

It is easy to iron when the item is still damp, but washed linen and linen knits do not need to be ironed at all.

RESISTANT AND LONG-LASTING

Flax is the most resistant of natural fibres. It is long lasting and pills very little, thanks to the length of the fibre.
